The Northwest Florida FORWARD strategy emphasizes talent development by partnering with educational institutions and training providers to define clear career pathways. Northwest Florida Career Pathways answers two critical questions for the region: “What are the in-demand careers in Northwest Florida?” and “Which educational programs prepare students to succeed in those careers?”
Whether a middle school student is exploring career possibilities, a parent or mentor is guiding a young learner, or an adult is considering a career change, Northwest Florida Career Pathways provides the resources and guidance needed to navigate opportunities and plan for the future.
A central element of the program is its recognition of registered apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeship training programs as key components of Florida’s workforce education ecosystem. In addition, regional school districts have developed a robust network of Career Academy programs, designed to align directly with the needs of the local economy. Across Northwest Florida, more than 400 Career Academy programs are available—including 10 specialized programs focused on advanced manufacturing—ensuring students and adults alike have pathways to meaningful, in-demand careers.
